PY's transportation design team has a proven track-record of developing creative roadway solutions for every user. From sidewalks and trails to rural corridors and urban interstates, our projects are focused on increasing safety, improving mobility, and enhancing public health. Every roadway design we deliver is tailored to match the specific needs of its users and priorities of its stakeholders. As a result, we have built extensive experience gaining stakeholder and community consensus on design concepts. Additionally, our staff has a multi-faceted understanding of constructability, with over 50% holding FDOT's certification for advanced maintenance of traffic design. A complete list of our transportation services includes roadway design, intersection design, aviation design, pavement design, drainage design and modeling, hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater permitting, lighting design, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) design, ADA compliance, erosion control plans, specifications and special provisions, shared-use path design, cost-benefit analysis, construction scheduling phasing, and cost estimating, and constructability review.

SR 24 Improvements
FDOT District Two
This project included the milling and resurfacing of 6.9 miles of SR 24, from SR 45 to SW 75th Street in Alachua County. The corridor is a two-lane, two-way roadway classified as a rural minor arterial. As the prime consultant, the Peters and Yaffee team prepared design and construction plans for:
Roadway improvements including widening right turn lanes to provide bike lane keyholes, ADA upgrades, and minor drainage modifications requiring a Level I Temporary Traffic Control Plan with TTCP Pedestrian Details
A Design Variance for deficient existing turn lane lengths
Traffic services including signalization, signing and pavement markings, and lighting improvements
A No Passing Zone Study that improved motorist safety along the corridor
